A Mending Angel’s Money Back Guarantee

A Mending Angel is the first and only charity ever to offer its donors a Money Back Guarantee on donations. 

For IRS/tax as well as organizational reasons, there are some restrictions.

Donation refunds are only eligible for individual donations and donors, and not for private foundations, government, and/or corporate donations of any kind.

Donation must be cash/check/credit card donation.  Also, the donation must be a one-time amount and not a combined amount - for instance, if you are a monthly donor.

Donors requesting a refund on their donation must complete a signed legal declaration complete with social security number stating that their donation was not included as an exemption for tax purposes.  A copy of this declaration will be sent to the IRS.  (Donations that were included as a tax exemption are not eligible for any refund.  Sorry, IRS rules…)

Minimum donation refund amount:  $500 dollars.
Maximum donation refund amount:  $1,000,000 dollars.

Minimum time after donation to request a refund:   6 months
   (We need some time to prove ourselves to you)
Maximum time after donation to request a refund:  12 months
   (Otherwise, it would adversely affect our fiscal year end bookkeeping)

Imagine if all charities offered a Money Back Guarantee on donations. 
They would better understand that they work for you – their donors. 

Charities would also be more likely to work with a greater sense of urgency. 

Perhaps we would have more cures by now. 

And my sister (and millions just like her) wouldn’t be stricken with cancer as I write this.
