Who We Are
A Mending Angel is a new 501c3 nonprofit based in San Francisco, California with an emphasis on the traditional and fundamental approach to philanthropy: To directly help those in need. A Mending Angel’s mission is to permanently change lives by providing one-time, critical needs charitable assistance to low income individuals and families.

What We Do
A Mending Angel’s goal is to change, improve, and permanently mend lives and families via this one time, critical needs charitable assistance. We provide support in a variety of areas, including healthcare, education, housing, and critical outreach. To strengthen our mission, A Mending Angel places much emphasis on Accountability and Results.

Accountability: A Mending Angel is the first and only nonprofit to provide a copy of any receipt for any expense.

Results: A Mending Angel is the first and only nonprofit to provide annual updates on every grantee

Why We Do it
The need for A Mending Angel’s one time charitable assistance is immense and urgent, especially with the current economic and fiscal crisis that millions of low income California and Bay Area families and individuals face daily. Poverty rates are increasing, countless jobs have been lost, more than 6 million people lack health insurance, and a recent study reveals that 1 in 4 Bay Area families are living at or below poverty levels. Families and individuals are in critical straits, and can be permanently helped by A Mending Angel’s one time assistance to improve their lives. The assistance we provide will elicit permanent positive change in each and every "Mended Angel".
